A PRAYER FOR AMERICA
Father God, we come this morning Lord, to firstly say thank you. Thank you that life is as well with us individually as it is. We thank you God for last night’s sleep and for waking us up this morning to see brand new mercies THIS day. We also come this morning to pray for our country, the United States of America.
Father God, we come this morning to ask that you would forgive this country of its sins against its people and most importantly, we ask that you would forgive this county of its sins against you, heavenly father. This country has pushed you God further and further into the background of life. This country has ignored your commandments and has moved with delight headfirst into sin and degradation. For that Lord I ask for your forgiveness. Lord, I pray for America.
This county is suffering now Lord from a ferocious pandemic that seems to be gathering strength daily. The pain and suffering Lord that it has caused in this country and the world is almost unbearable. We ask this morning Lord that you would comfort those that have lost loved ones because of the pandemic and we ask that you would bless those who are suffering in the hospitals right now from it. Those who can’t even see their loved ones. Lord, we pray that the vaccine will be effective and that the distribution will be sooner for all and not later. We pray for those doctors, nurses, and others on the front lines of this pandemic. We pray for their safety and that you Lord would comfort them and calm their fears. Lord, I pray for America.
Father God, this past Wednesday is another day that will live in infamy in this country forever. It is the day that armed insurrectionists attacked the Capital of the United States of America. It is the day that rioters and looters held the county captive while they seized the Capital. It is the day that the President of the United States led an angry mob of thugs to attack democracy. Lord I pray for America.
Lord I pray that you would touch the hardened hearts of men and women who only see life in Black and white, who want to continually keep their knees on the necks of people of color. Lord I pray for America.
As this season of insurrection continues, as the president continues to spout his lies about the election and everything else, I pray for the families who lost loved ones during the siege of the Capital and I pray for those who were wounded during the siege. I ask Lord that you would speak peace to the hearts of all Americans.
Lord, I pray for the incoming administration. I ask you Lord that YOU would lead, guide, and protect them Lord. Lord I pray for America.
Lord, in closing this humble prayer for America, I ask Lord again that you would forgive us for our sins, help us Lord to turn from our wicked ways, and I beseech you Lord, to please heal our land.
This is, Lord, my prayer for America and I ask it in the matchless name of our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ, and for his sake. Amen! Amen! And Amen!
